How does it work?

This process involves me scanning the space you are looking to build into and taking site measurements directly in to my design software.. With this option you really jump ahead a bit in the design process as the scan to design feature allows me to get your project measured without anything required from you. There is a $50.00 charge for this service which can be rolled into your project cost if we do enter into an agreement.

This is where your ideas begins to take shape , regardless of whether I have conducted my initial consultation virtually or in person. You will have the opportunity to see your dimensions on a blank PDF to sketch in what you would like to see in your space. This can be a simple hand drawn sketch after the initial consult. This is just a simple concept , it does not require scaling or detail , just the elements you would like to be in the design.

With the information you provide me , our conversations about what you would like to see , and influence from designs you may have found on the web I begin a 3D model. Once I have completed this model I will share an animation of the model or screenshots showing details that are important for building your quote.

 While I strive to create a perfect design on the first attempt, revisions are often necessary to ensure every detail meets your expectations. I will continue refining the design until all elements are represented in the model and ready for a quote. Conceptual design work is very affordable, with a rate of just $25.00 per hour. Most concepts are completed within 1.5 hours, as they focus on visualizing the design rather than including construction-level details. 

If the project falls within budget we move on to the next step , if it does not I have continued to develop my skills and you leave with an idea of what range you could expect other builders to fall within. If you cant tell I am a glass half full kind of guy....

 At this stage, with the project budget approved, I will visit the site to take precise measurements—unless we’ve already met in person. Over seven years, I’ve refined a meticulous measuring process that ensures every detail is accounted for. Depending on the job, I may input laser measurements directly into my design software, utilize the scan-to-design feature, or create on-site templates. This attention to detail guarantees accuracy and excellence in the final result. 

I convert your conceptual design to one that fits the space , remember how I said the basic measurements were all that was needed? If I find a 1" discrepancy it barely affects this model. The easy part is up front , the hard part (for me) is here.

How will I know that its exactly what I want? Well , I am glad you asked. You have the option to step into a virtual reality setting to see your model in real size. I have had clients walk through a complete kitchen and make changes as they stood in front of work areas , doors are resized , drawers are added , 1" tops get bigger , you get the point. I can make these changes on the spot until you see precisely what you want delivered.

We did it! Documents are signed and the custom millwork we have designed is purchased from my one and only vendor. Full payment is issued to Walnut Valley Woodworking in Millersburg , Ohio. This company is my only vendor. They are equally as obsessed with quality as I am. I deliver the finest quality cabinetry and woodworking you will find , period. The proof is in my work. I constructed my first cabinet before I had my drivers license. You can expect only the best. 

Your project will take 8-9 weeks to complete. Prior to delivery there are a couple additional steps to cover:

1. 6 weeks before installation you must have your paint color selected and or stain sample approved. We offer all colors from all major brands of paint. Stains can be a bit tricky but I have you covered , I provide a hard sample of what you will get that requires a sign off.
2. One month before installation you will receive a final set of shop prints. These will require a final  sign off.

Expect a call to coordinate your installation date and times three weeks prior. Then , our team of experienced carpenters will bring your project to life. Keep in mind , the augmented reality version you have seen is the exact same file the shop prints were converted from. Your trim intersections , touch ups , fastener holes , and clean up are all part of the this process. A final QC checklist is completed and you can now begin to enjoy your personalized space!
